CAYA Psychology has grown from one psychologist's independent practice into an established psychology clinic in Geelong — built gradually, through clinical work, referrals and a commitment to doing things well.
A decade of clinical practice, growth and experience has shaped the practice CAYA is today.
CAYA Psychology began as Joe's independent practice while he worked as a contractor within established psychology clinics in Melbourne. This was where the foundations of CAYA were built — through clinical work, professional experience and thousands of conversations with clients and families.
After several years working within established practices, Joe opened CAYA Psychology as an independent clinic in Box Hill. The practice was built around a simple idea: create an environment where good clinical work could be done thoughtfully, independently and sustainably.
CAYA grew steadily through referrals and ongoing clinical work. During these years, the practice developed the systems, experience and professional relationships that continue to support clients today.
CAYA relocated from Melbourne to Geelong and established a permanent base in Manifold Heights. The move marked the beginning of a new chapter for the practice while retaining the experience and foundations built over the previous years.
After a decade of building the practice, CAYA welcomed its first independent psychologist alongside Joe. The practice remains deliberately small, allowing it to grow while maintaining the personal, considered approach that has shaped CAYA from the beginning.
Today, CAYA Psychology provides assessment and therapy for children, adolescents and adults across Geelong and the Bellarine. The practice continues to grow carefully, with the same focus on thoughtful clinical care, appropriate referrals and long-term relationships with the people we support.
CAYA has been built through years of clinical practice. Our psychologists bring substantial experience across therapy and psychological assessment, with care grounded in evidence, professional training and real-world clinical experience.
Not every psychologist is the right fit for every person. We consider the reasons you're seeking support, the kind of help you need and the clinician's areas of experience when determining who may be best placed to work with you.
CAYA has grown without becoming a large corporate clinic. Keeping the practice small allows us to maintain a more personal approach, while still having the systems, experience and professional support of an established practice behind it.
If you're considering therapy or psychological assessment, we'd be happy to help you work out what kind of support may be most appropriate.
